Hello dancers and Salsa enthusiasts , and everyone else out there. I’ve been waiting and wanting , and have finally gotten my body up out of sidelining after long periods injury to produce a few short videos each week that outline my version of fun and simple , hopefully beneficial basics of Salsa dance.
It’s all based on a syllabus I learned from my great ballroom instructor several years ago. He is from Puerto Rican background and really got me into the rhythm and music of the dance of this region and I was hooked. In addition to competing ballroom in the Pro-Am circuit in the 90’s to 2000’s I taught in clubs around the Atlanta area , performed at weddings, salsa nights at Sanctuary , worked corporate shows and much more in this art form.
It is wonderful and a fun, lightweight rhythmic form of exercise that has stayed with me for a long time.
I wanted to produce some ideas that will hopefully catch on and improve with time. I’ve suffered great loss since 2015 and have fought pretty hard to just get going again. My heart jumped right back in here. Please feel free to subscribe, comment, and enjoy this dance with me. You can check out my channel on YouTube, as linking from the videos. Or go straight to it here.
My new page is on the site and is called “A Time to Dance”. I’ll be returning to everything I’ve learned over time, including tap , salsa, ballroom and maybe even some bellydance.
Let’s Go! And feel free to dance and share .
